• Release date was 7/1/15 and wear out date of the old multicam pattern is 10/2019, Fort Carson and 11 other bases begin the official change 7/1/17.  It will not be required immediately but the patterns cannot be mixed during wear (i.e. cannot wear and OCP top with the old MC pant)

Changes in the uniform (See picture # 3):

1. Upper-sleeve pocket will feature a zipper closure instead of a velcro closure for easier access, the new pockets will look similar to those found on combat shirts
2. Upper sleeve pocket will be 1 inch longer (feedback on post-combat surveys showed that soldiers require roomier pockets and more room for patches)
3. No internal elbow pads and velcro elbow patches as they were found useless in the field but the double fabric reinforcement on the elbow area remains
4. No cord-and-barrel lock on the casrgo pocket
5. No knee pad or patches but still reinforced fabric in the knee area
6. The lower-leg pocket has previously used a velcro closure, from now on, it will feature a one-button closure instead
7. No more mandarin collar, instead a traditional fold-down design
8. Only two pen pockets instead of the usual three
9. After complain that the drawstrings on the uniform pants' waistband looks unprofessional, it was proposed they be removed
10. Fabric content is FR cloth, ripstop
    

• The single difference that is easiest to see, while holding both pieces together is that the multicam pattern has a distinct vertical element in the pattern, the scorpion does not have a vertical element.

• Note that the shopping cart will show "MC" if the item is Multicam and 'Scorpion' if the item is Scorpion.
