About this LanCay General Cutlery 1st Edition M9 Bayonet Unissued:

The first contract was awarded in March of 1992 around 53,000. LanCay contracted out to General Cutler to assemble the parts and only about 300 of these made it past inspection into the supply system. These will be stamped LANCAY on the ricasso, all letters the same size. This M9 shows the stamp to be LanCay (all upper case but the L and the C are larger) indicating still the first edition but this particular knife did not make it past inspection
After these very few (300+) M9's were issued the contract was canceled due to production errors and LanCay producted the M9 themselves

Indications this is a first edition:

1993 date in the clock stamp
LANCAY on sheath
Unmarked pommel
Screwdriver at en dof cutter plate on scabbard (note on the pictures as we took a closeup)

Later production (NOT General Cutlery collectible productions) will be stamped Lan-Cay.
