The ANVID/F is designed to provide illumination for aircrew using night vision equipment. The visible beam operates at wavelength that does not interfere with the ANVIS, AN/AVS-6 and similar night vision devices. Use to illuminate instruments, maps, charts and controls.

Illumination can be selected ON or OFF by indexing the switch toggle on the top of the unit. The ANVID/F is fitted over the finger of the user with the Velcro strap provided. Either hand may be used, the switch is designed to be easily operated with the thumb of either hand. To replace batteries open compartment at the rear of housing. The batteries (requires 2 A76) are readily available and operate the light for several house.
