About this ECWCS U.S. Marine Corp High Loft Happy Jacket Wild Things Level 7 Coyote Brown XL/L Coyote Brown:
The High Loft Jacket, pants (sold separately!) and booties (also sold separately when in stock!) designed by Wild Things, are engineered for bivouac, rest and sedentary activities in extreme cold conditions. These pieces are light weight and easily packed to a minimum volume, so they can be carried among the variety of other mission essential gear, and they provide the warmth you need to lie in wait for extended periods of time.
Designed to provide maximum comfort in extreme cold weather, the High Loft Jacket is a superior outer layer. The jacket is cut large to fit over several layers of clothing and body armor. The shell material is a carefully selected, tested microfiber that is impregnated with a thin layer of silicone. This material is lightweight, windproof, highly water resistant, and breathable. The added silicone also enhances abrasion resistance.
The jacket is designed to enhance comfort and performance in extreme cold conditions, eliminating all unnecessary features. Insulated with PrimaLoft® Sport synthetic insulation, the jacket is lightweight, compressible and keeps the wearer warm even when wet. We put 6 oz PrimaLoft® in the body and 2 oz in the hood to insure comfort even in the coldest conditions. The sleeves feature 330 denier Cordura reinforcement panels just where you need them. The hood and waist openings are elasticized with barrel lock closures, making gloved adjustment a snap. We put two internal mesh pockets into the jacket for storage, and they are large enough for users to dry out socks or gloves while wearing the jacket. Wrist openings are elasticized with hook and loop adjustable closures.

*How does PrimaLoft® Sport work? PrimaLoft's fast drying properties and breathability make it the insulation of choice for any extreme condition. It has been proven to be less water absorbing and warmer when wet or dry than competative insulation. The incredibly think multi-diameter fibers give PrimaLoft Sport the soft, down-like feel that helps retain body warmth while being lightweight and compressible. The patented mulit-diameter fibers won't absorb water so you will stay warm even when wet. What is the ECWCS Generation III: The third generation of the Extended Cold Weather Clothing System (ECWCS-III) is a radical re-design of the cold weather clothing system for the U.S. Army. It is based on layering systems believed to be the most effective by mountaineering professionals and incorporates 7 layers of clothing. Each piece fits and functions either alone or together as a layering system to provide the most effective options in the lightest weight possible to soldiers. It is 33% more compressible, 25% lighter and is rated as significantly more comfortable. It is more versatile and includes functional features that allow the Soldier to adapt to varying mission requirements and environmental conditions ranging between -40 to +60 degrees Fahrenheit. The U.S. Army's 10th Mountain Division field tested 18,000 of the ECWCS-III systems in Afghanistan in the fall of 2006 with great reviews, hence it is the most current ECWCS system in the US Army to date.Components of the ECWCS Generation III System:
