Size Extra Small fits a 33" chest. Actual measurement of chest is 36"
NSN# 8405-255-8593

Many would mistake this jacket for the vintage Vietnam jacket M1965. While it was indeed worn during Vietnam it was only manufactured from 1951 to 1965. The manufacture date on this jacket is 1964 as can be seen on the tag shown in the pictures.
OG-107 color
The main difference between this earlier jacket and the Vietnam era M1965 is that the latter had a built-in hood that can be folded into the collar and velcro on the sleeve cuffs and collar. Velcro is NOT used in the M 51, only buttons and zippers. The M1965 also had button holes on the collar for a separate extrem-weather hood which this M 51 does not have. (Available in a separate listing when Glenn's Army surplus has them in stock.)
The M 51 has four large exterior front pockets
Another difference identifying this M 51 as an M 51 and not the later M 65 is that the waist drawstring was tied externally and came through to the front of the jacket on the outside. The M 1965 did not have this feature. You can see this detail in the photo.
The M51 was actually preferred in Vietnam as it was a lighter weight jacket for the tropical climate and was also water resistant with a sateen fabric

Condition:

All closures function properly, no missing buttons, the zipper is smooth and effective.
No rips, tears or stain
Fading as shown, a good patena
