PASGT - Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops
Used in mid-1980s up until the early 2000's when it was replace by the OTV / Interceptor (available in separate listings)
Front velcro closure
Two front pockets
Adjustable shoulder pads
3/4 collar
Kevlar inserts protection against shrapnel and reduced severity of injuries from small arms fire, stops pistol rounds including 9x 19mm Parabellusm FMJ
Weights about 9 lbs
Equivalent to NIJ Level II or IIA protection: able to stop multiple 124-grain 9x19mm FMJ pistol rounds to its main torso panels front and back
Ballistic filler consists of 13 plies of 14oz/yd2 (457 g/m2) water repellent treated Aramid (Kevlar 29) fabric
